Applied Research Project

15.817.02.28A “Models, methods and interfaces for control and optimization of intelligent manufacturing systems”

    The objectives of this project are to design new models, methods, and interfaces for developing of some intelligent techniques and products to be applied in: technical information systems; control of reconfigurable manufacturing systems; distributed control systems; optimization of intelligent production systems; predictive-reactive planning of manufacturing systems with uncertainty. An important objective is to prepare the scientific researchers.
    The methods used to achieve the research objectives are based on the theory of computer systems, the theory of automated adaptive control systems, optimal control theory and fuzzy control, synthesis of controllers, semi-Markov processes theory, Petri nets theory, formal language theory, the theory of algorithms, combinatorial optimization theory.
    The main expected results of the project are:
    • design and development of new methods, techniques, and hardware/software design tools for distributed control systems;
    • development of models and methods for construction of NL-interfaces to be applied in technical information systems with specific characteristics;
    • development of new models and optimization methods for intelligent production systems;
    • design and development of methods for predictive-reactive planning of manufacturing systems with uncertainty.

Key words: manufacturing systems, system modeling, control systems, NL-interface, distributed control, optimization, predictive-reactive production planning.
